A Clear Path Forward For Struggling Readers

Every child is different.

That's why we begin by identifying the specific skills that may be making reading difficult, and then create a plan based on your child's needs.

Our process is designed to help families understand where a child is struggling, and what skills need support, and what steps can help them move forward.

Parent Screener

Not sure where to start?

In just 8–12 minutes, this screener can help you get a clearer picture of how your child (Grades K–4) is doing with reading. It walks through a short set of questions covering common signs of reading difficulty — things like word recognition, reading speed, comprehension, and confidence when reading aloud. There's no need to prepare anything in advance; just answer honestly based on what you've noticed at home or heard from your child's teacher.

After you know the results there is plain-language guidance on what a reasonable next step might look like for your family. This is simply meant to help you understand whether it's worth looking deeper, and if so, where.

Guided Screening

Professional screening?

If you'd rather talk things through with someone instead of filling out a form on your own, this is a more in-depth virtual screening conducted over Zoom with one of our team members. You'll walk through your child's reading history together, discuss specific concerns you've noticed, and get professional insight in real time rather than waiting on a report.

The session typically runs about 30 minutes and gives you a chance to ask questions along the way. By the end, you'll have immediate feedback on what we're seeing, along with a clear understanding of the concepts behind it — not just a checklist, but a real conversation about your child's reading.

Structured Reading

Personalized reading support

This is our full coaching program, built for students who need consistent, hands-on support rather than a one-time assessment. Sessions run 45 minutes and include both parent and child together, because progress tends to happen faster when families are part of the process rather than working in isolation.

Most students in this program are significantly behind grade level — typically 1 to 3 years — and the average student stays with us for about 18 months. Along the way, you'll receive quarterly written progress reports, plus a video of your child reading every three months, so you can hear and see the difference for yourself rather than just taking our word for it.

The program combines structured literacy instruction with language development, comprehension work, and ongoing parent coaching — because supporting a struggling reader is rarely just about the reading itself.

Our Model Combines:
Structured Literacy
Language Development
Reading Fluency
Parent Coaching
Comprehension Skills
Practice Plans

Includes:
Weekly Sessions
Customized Instruction
Progress Reports

Access to Tools

A 3-month initial commitment is required, after which you move to a month-to-month plan.
