Who We Are

Our website address is: https://bfrl.academy

Bright Futures Reading Lab (“we,” “us,” or “our”) provides free parent resources, reading assessments, and reading intervention services. This policy explains what information we collect from visitors and how we use it.

Email Signups

When you sign up for one of our free parent guides or resources (such as our Parent Reading Screener, “How to Read With Your Child,” “How to Have Better Conversations With Your Child,” or our “10 Signs” checklist), we collect your name and email address.

We use a third-party email service provider, MailerLite, to store this information and deliver the requested resource, along with occasional related updates and offers. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link included in any email we send you.

For more information on how MailerLite processes data, see their privacy policy: https://www.mailerlite.com/legal/privacy-policy

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to help us understand how visitors use our site — for example, which pages are viewed, how long visitors stay, and general location and device information. This data is used in aggregate to improve our content and website experience, and is not used to personally identify you.

For more information on how Google collects and processes this data, see Google’s privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy

You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking across all websites by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout

Comments

If you leave a comment on our site, we collect the data shown in the comment form, along with your IP address and browser user agent string, to help detect spam.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to check if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After your comment is approved, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site, you may opt in to saving your name, email address, and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so you don’t have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies last for one year.

If you visit our login page, we set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

Embedded Content From Other Websites

Pages on this site may include embedded content (e.g., videos, images, articles, Calendly scheduling widgets). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor had visited the other website directly.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Third-Party Scheduling (Calendly)

We use Calendly to allow you to schedule consultations with our team. When you book a consultation, Calendly collects the information you provide (such as your name, email, and any notes) to facilitate the scheduling process. For more information, see Calendly’s privacy policy: https://calendly.com/privacy

How Long We Retain Your Data

If you sign up for one of our free resources, we retain your contact information in MailerLite until you unsubscribe or request deletion. If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely so we can recognize and approve follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

What Rights You Have Over Your Data

If you have signed up for one of our free resources, you can request that we erase any personal data we hold about you, including data associated with your email address. This does not include data we are obligated to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

To make this request, please contact us using the information below.
