Not a Substitute for Professional Diagnosis
Our screeners, assessments, and reading intervention services — including any screening related to phonological processing, dyslexia, or other reading-related skills — are intended to help parents better understand their child’s reading development. They are educational tools, not a clinical, medical, or psychological diagnosis.
Our findings, guidance, and recommendations do not replace evaluation by a licensed psychologist, educational diagnostician, speech-language pathologist, or other qualified professional. If our screening or assessment suggests a possible learning difference or disability, we encourage you to seek a formal evaluation from an appropriately licensed professional.
Free Resources
Our free guides and screeners are provided for personal, informational use by parents and caregivers. By requesting a free resource, you agree to receive it via email through our email service provider, MailerLite, along with occasional related updates. You may unsubscribe at any time.
Paid Services
Guided Screening ($95): A virtual consultation with a member of our team, generally lasting about 30 minutes. Payment is due at the time of booking unless otherwise stated.
Structured Reading Program ($600/month): Our full coaching program is billed monthly, starting from your first month of enrollment. We recommend an initial commitment of at least 3 months, as meaningful reading progress takes time and consistency — but you are billed month-to-month throughout, with no upfront lump-sum payment. Sessions are scheduled weekly and run approximately 45 minutes.
Cancellations and Refunds:
Guided Screening: Appointments may be rescheduled or cancelled with at least 24 hours’ notice. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice are not eligible for a refund or reschedule.
Structured Reading Program: You may cancel your enrollment at any time. While we recommend an initial commitment of at least 3 months for the best results, this is a recommendation and not a binding term — there is no penalty for cancelling earlier. Billing is monthly, and if you cancel partway through a billing month, you will be refunded for unused weeks remaining in that month. The week in which you cancel is considered used and is non-refundable, regardless of the day of the week you cancel. For example, if you cancel on a Monday and have a session scheduled later that same week, that week is included in your used services and is not refunded.
Books: Books purchased directly from bfrl.academy may be returned for a full refund within 30 days of purchase. Books purchased through third-party retailers (such as Amazon or Barnes & Noble) are subject to that retailer’s own return and refund policies, not ours.
Book Purchases
From time to time, we may offer books or other written materials for purchase through our website. All sales are final unless otherwise stated at the time of purchase, or as required by law.
Intellectual Property
All content on this website — including guides, screeners, checklists, book content, graphics, and the Bright Futures Reading Lab name and logo — is our property and is protected by copyright. You may use our free resources for personal, non-commercial use. You may not reproduce, distribute, or resell our materials without our written permission.
Website Use
You agree to use this website only for lawful purposes. You may not attempt to interfere with the proper functioning of the site, misuse any forms or booking tools, or use any content on the site in a way that is misleading, harmful, or infringes on the rights of others.
Third-Party Services
Our website uses third-party services, including MailerLite (email delivery), Google Analytics (site analytics), and Calendly (scheduling). Your use of these features is also subject to those providers’ own terms and privacy policies.
Limitation of Liability
Bright Futures Reading Lab provides its services and resources on an “as is” basis. While we are committed to helping families support their children’s reading development, we do not guarantee specific outcomes, as every child’s progress depends on many individual factors.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Bright Futures Reading Lab is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of our website, resources, or services.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Continued use of our website or services after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
